aifric campbell
Encounter with Aifric Campbell, author of The Semantics of Murder, in residence in Belgium during the month of October. Aifric Campbell is the author is two novels The Semantics of Murder (2008) and The Loss Adjustor (2010).
Aifric was born in Dublin and studied at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden where she also lectured. After 13 years working as an investment banker in London she spent a year studying psychotherapy. She received her PhD in Critical and Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia in 2007.
Aifric's writing has received awards from the Arts Humanities Research Council (UK), a fellowship at UCLA and residencies at Yaddo. Her first novel was shortlisted for the Glen Dimplex Award.
Aifric lives in England with her husband and son. She is currently completing her third novel set in the global financial markets.

The French Canadian writer Myriam Beaudoin sent us her new novel 33, chemin de la Baleine (Editions Leméac). Her residency with us in winter 2008 was spent writing a great part of it. Or put in her own words: "The last hundred pages have been written in Vollezele. These pages are the most beautiful and truest in the book."
